1 Week until the Super Bowl

And I couldn't care less.

Call it a burning hatred towards Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning.  Both individuals who's only consistency is their inconsistency.  Back in 2007, I called for Coughlin's head.  The now hated Tiki Barber had lambasted Coughlin for his locker room authority and Eli for lack of leadership.  You know these issues remain, right?  Coughlin met with players midway through the 2007 campaign and changed his ways.  He became less of an authoritarian ass and more of a players' coach.  As soon as he lifted the Lombardi trophy, he reverted back to his old style.  His stubbornness brought back the coach that would defend his average quarterback while throwing everyone else under the bus.  Meanwhile we had the least of the three Manning brothers being praised as an ELIte quarterback.  Watching Manning lift the MVP trophy to that Super Bowl made me sick.  One of the most unstoppable offensive forces in the NFL's history had been brought to a screeching stop.  The front seven of the Giants reigned terror on the backfield and the Brady-Moss combo that had burned the Giants just over a month earlier had been nullified.  To see a player who overthrew his receivers all game, only to have one receiver save him on the final drive, being considered in the same breath as many greats was just awful for football, especially New York football.

Eli will always be a good quarterback.  People point out his record 4th quarter touchdowns as a term for his greatness, in turn Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and several others took care of their business before the end.  Manning has disappeared for points in any season and continues his luck.  Be warned, Eli makes bad moments their worst possible.  The question remains in the upcoming Super Bowl.  Will Eli find Cruz and Manningham, or will he lose his head and throw 3 pick 6's?  Both are as likely.

Hello all, my name is Tim Staub and I just decided to begin blogging about sports. Do I expect readership and a loyal following that many excellent blogs have? Hell no. I just began this blog to collect my random thoughts regarding sports.

My first ever post will be about who I am and the myriad of topics I plan on covering whenever I can.

I'm a currently a rising senior at the University of Notre Dame. There I am a marketing major who lives in Dillon Hall. I was born and raised in Colts Neck, New Jersey and have lived either there or Bay Head a large majority of my life. I developed a love of sports sometime in my youth due family influences, whether it's my uncles love of baseball, my dad and his brothers watching all sports or maybe just the rise of ESPN's influence on my generation in combination with the internet.

As for the topics this blog will cover, it will feature all topics in all sports, whether trades, finance, performance, or anything I can think of. Enjoy!
